Disposable 2022
Disposable ‘Falmouth’ is a photography book publication, following on from the first issue of Disposable, completed in 2021. I wanted to continue Disposable as I see it as a great opportunity to work with a new set of people to get a completely different outcome.
This time Disposable’s focus was on University design students. By choosing this group of people I knew that I could work with them closely and, due to their design experience and increased photography competence, I knew that the quality and composition of photography would be a higher standard than the cheap disposable cameras used in the Manchester project. Most of the images in the Falmouth project are taken on phones.
I decided to keep the questions very similar to the first edition but altered one or two to get different results. The final images were designed into a more formal book than the Manchester project and displayed in a different way with each participant having their own chapter in the book. Disposable, as a concept, works well and is something I will be looking to take further with future editions.
